Historic, Ancient City Of Agrigento Sicily...Just a Stone's Throw From A Lovely Beach In Porto EmpedocleAgrigento Sicily is a popular tourist attraction mainly because of its great archaeological history. It's also a supplier of agriculture for it's neighboring towns. One of my favorite sights in this city is the Valley of the Temples. Still today, it's the best proof of the Greek civilization in Sicily. With a countryside full of almond trees, you can't miss the amazing ruins of the temples. Even after hundreds of years, they still draw a crowd.
In the province of Agrigento is Porto Empedocle. I think it's beach has one of the most beautiful shorelines in the Mediterranean. Porto Empedocle Beach is 3 KM long and is a major tourist attraction in the city. If you see it, you'll understand why... A fine gold colored sand and a crystal clear sea, combines with the beautiful landscape to create a magical place.
